Rochester's Healthcare Economy & HVAC Pricing
Rochester's economy is dominated by Mayo Clinic and an educated, high-income demographic. HVAC contractors in Rochester often price accordingly — sometimes 15–25% higher than Twin Cities rates for identical equipment and labor. Furnace Direct's factory-direct pricing is the same everywhere — Rochester homeowners pay the same price as Minneapolis homeowners for equipment, and hire a local Rochester installer for labor at local rates.
Buy the same name-brand furnace the pros install — shipped factory-direct to your door. No middleman, 5-star rated, and financing available.
Rochester Housing Mix
Rochester has everything from 1920s craftsman homes near Mayo Clinic to 4,000 sq ft new construction in the northwest developments. Most homes fall in the 1,600–3,000 sq ft range. The newer developments near Quarry Hill and northwest Rochester often feature more complex duct layouts — use our BTU Calculator for accurate sizing.
Olmsted-Winona Electric Cooperative / CenterPoint
Rochester is primarily served by CenterPoint Energy for natural gas. CenterPoint rebates of $250 apply to qualifying 95%+ AFUE replacements. Federal 25C credit adds $600 more. See the 2026 Minnesota Rebates Guide. (The federal 25C credit expired for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025, so it does not apply to a 2026 installation.)
