Straight Talk

The Costco of HVAC

We're a real company. Not a flashy local AC outfit with trucks and a showroom and a guy in a polo who shows up to your kitchen to “talk options” for an hour. And that's exactly why we can save you $3,000–$6,000 on the same equipment.

The short version: Costco doesn't make products. They buy direct from manufacturers, stack it on the warehouse floor, and cut out the markup. You walk in, you walk out, you save. Furnace Direct works the same exact way—for HVAC.

We carry Whirlpool, Day & Night (made by Carrier), Goodman (Daikin), Airtemp, Aprilaire, Generac, and Built Right. Real brands. Real warranties. Same equipment your neighbor's AC guy would quote you $9,500 for. Ours is usually $3,000–$6,000.

Here's Where Your Money Actually Goes

When you call a traditional HVAC dealer for a new AC, here's roughly what that $9,500 quote is paying for:

What You're Paying For Traditional HVAC Furnace Direct
The actual equipment (manufacturer cost)$2,000$2,000
Dealer markup$2,500$0
Commissioned salesperson$1,200$0
Overhead: trucks, showroom, office$1,800$0
Installation labor$2,000~$2,200
Total you pay$9,500~$4,200

Numbers are representative for a standard 2.5-ton single-stage AC. Your specific savings depend on tonnage and features.

You're paying the same for the equipment. You're paying the same for skilled install labor. The entire $5,500 difference is markup—showrooms, commissioned reps, advertising, dealer profit—that we don't have because we don't need them.

“But Are You Actually a Real Company?”

Fair question. You should only buy from companies that are transparent about who they are. Here's ours:

What About Installation?

You have two options, and either one is fine:

Option 1: We coordinate a licensed installer for you

We have vetted local installers in our service areas who do quality work at a fair, fixed price. They're the same pros who do installs for big HVAC companies—they just don't mark up your equipment. Typical install cost: $1,800–$2,500 depending on the job.

Option 2: Use your own HVAC contractor

If you already have a trusted HVAC guy, buy the equipment from us and hand it to him. He keeps his labor fee, you save on the equipment markup. Permit and inspection paths are exactly the same.

What If Something Breaks?

Same thing that happens with any other install: you call the manufacturer's warranty line (or us—we'll help). Parts are typically covered 10 years. Whirlpool doesn't care whether you bought from us or from the local dealer—you're their customer, and they honor the warranty.

We also help coordinate warranty parts shipments if you need them. That's included at no charge.

What Real Customers Say

★★★★★

“Got a quote from a local HVAC company for $8,400. Bought the same unit from Furnace Direct for $3,900 and had my own guy install it for $1,800. Saved over $2,500 on the same exact 3-ton system.”

— Mike T., Cape Coral FL
★★★★★

“I was skeptical at first—price was so much lower than everyone else I thought something had to be wrong. But the unit arrived on time, my installer said it was a good quality Whirlpool, and it's been running great for 4 months. Wish I'd known about them years ago.”

— Karen L., Fort Myers FL
★★★★★

“They answered every question honestly. Didn't try to upsell. Gave me a straight price. That alone was refreshing after getting quoted by three different 'comfort advisors' who all wanted to sit in my kitchen for an hour.”

— Robert K., High Point NC
