Shipping Policy
Last updated: July 2026. This Shipping Policy applies to all orders placed with Furnace Direct ("we," "us," "our"). By placing an order you agree to the terms below, together with our Terms of Service and Return & Refund Policy.
Where we ship
We ship to all 50 U.S. states. Standard freight and parcel rates apply to the 48 contiguous states. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories, as well as certain remote or rural ZIP codes, may require an additional freight quote before the order can be fulfilled; we will contact you if any surcharge applies.
Order processing
Most in-stock orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Because we fulfill from a nationwide network of distribution warehouses, your equipment typically ships from the branch nearest you. In-stock items commonly dispatch the same or next business day; special-order and made-to-order items ship once available from the manufacturer or warehouse. Processing and transit times are estimates, not guarantees, and are not counted from weekends or holidays.
How your order ships
- Small parts & accessories ship via standard ground/parcel carriers.
- Large equipment — furnaces, AC condensers, air handlers, evaporator coils, heat pumps, and packaged units — ships by LTL freight on a pallet, delivered curbside. Freight carriers deliver to the curb or driveway only; moving the equipment into your home, garage, or job site is the customer’s responsibility.
- Where free delivery is offered, it applies to standard curbside freight within regularly serviced routes. Liftgate service, inside delivery, limited-access locations, and residential appointment windows may carry additional carrier fees.
Delivery timelines
Transit typically takes 1–7 business days after dispatch, depending on the distance between the fulfilling branch and your address. Freight carriers will generally call to schedule a delivery appointment for large equipment. Delivery dates provided by us or the carrier are estimates and are not guaranteed; we are not liable for carrier delays, weather, or events outside our control.
Receiving a freight delivery — please read
An adult (18+) must be present to receive and sign for freight shipments. Before you sign the delivery receipt or bill of lading:
- Inspect every item and the packaging for damage while the driver is present.
- Note any visible damage, dents, or missing items on the delivery receipt before signing. If damage is significant, you may refuse the shipment.
- Signing a clean/clear delivery receipt indicates the shipment arrived in good condition and may limit or void a freight damage claim.
- Report any concealed damage to us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the equipment and packaging. Do not install a unit you suspect is damaged.
Following these steps protects your ability to receive a replacement or freight claim. See our Return & Refund Policy for how damaged or defective items are handled.
Title & risk of loss
Title and risk of loss pass to the customer upon delivery by the carrier to the shipping address you provide.
Shipping addresses, reroutes & refused shipments
Please make sure your shipping address is complete and accurate at checkout. Address changes, reconsignments, or reroutes requested after a shipment is in transit may incur carrier fees payable by the customer. Shipments that are refused (for reasons other than documented damage) or that are undeliverable due to an incorrect address, missed appointments, or an inaccessible location may be subject to return freight charges and the restocking fees described in our Return & Refund Policy.
