About this product

The Goodman GD9T96 series delivers exceptional comfort and energy efficiency with a 96% AFUE rating and a dependable two-stage gas valve. This design allows the furnace to run at a lower capacity most of the time for quiet, even heating — and automatically shift to full power when needed. Its multi-speed ECM blower provides consistent airflow, reduced energy use, and improved humidity control.

Perfect for downflow or horizontal installations, the GD9T96 offers long-lasting performance with American-made reliability.

Key Features

Saved $2,400 vs local contractor

Got quoted $9,200 from a local HVAC contractor for a furnace replacement. Found Furnace Direct and got the exact same Goodman unit for under $5k delivered. My installer couldn't believe the price and installed it in one day. Runs perfectly.

Fast shipping, exactly as described

Ordered on a Tuesday, pallet arrived Friday. Unit was packed well, no damage, all factory sealed. Andrew answered my sizing question over the phone and got me the right model. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Installer said same one he'd buy at supply house

My HVAC guy said he pays basically the same price at his wholesale supply house. The markup contractors add is insane. Furnace Direct cut the middleman out entirely. Will recommend to everyone I know.

Heating my 2,200 sq ft home perfectly

Installed my 96% AFUE furnace a couple months ago. Heats my 2,200 sq ft home perfectly, and my gas bill dropped noticeably compared to the old unit. Great product, great price, great experience from start to finish.

Saved enough to pay for the install

Math was simple: 3 contractor quotes all over $8k. Furnace Direct plus local installer was under $5,500 total. Saved enough to basically pay for the install myself. Quality is identical to what contractors charge a fortune for.

No-pressure, honest pricing

Called a few HVAC companies first — every single one wanted to schedule an "in-home consultation" before giving me a price. Furnace Direct just showed me the price. Bought online, shipped next day, done. This is how it should work.

Common Questions About This Gas Furnaces

How much does installation cost?
Professional installation by a licensed FD-network installer typically runs $1,900–$2,800 depending on the install scope (single-stage vs two-stage, line set length, vent reconfiguration). In Minnesota we book the install date with you within one business day of order. The unit price you see is equipment only — install is a separate line item we quote based on your home.
How do I know if this will fit my home?
Furnace sizing depends on heated square footage, insulation, climate zone, and existing ductwork. Rule of thumb in Minnesota: 40,000 BTU heats ~1,000 sqft, 60k heats ~1,500 sqft, 80k heats ~2,000 sqft, 100k heats ~2,500 sqft, 120k heats ~3,000+ sqft. Send us your home details and we will size it free before you commit.
What is the warranty?
All equipment ships with the full manufacturer warranty (typically 10 years parts, 1 year labor on the compressor/heat exchanger). Registration is required — we send registration instructions with the unit. Install through our licensed installer network preserves the warranty; DIY install may void coverage depending on the manufacturer.
How fast does this ship?
In-stock equipment ships within 1–2 business days via freight (pallet delivery). Transit is typically 3–7 business days depending on your zip. You will receive a tracking number and the freight carrier will call to schedule curbside delivery. Equipment is in stock unless the product page shows "Special Order".
Is financing available?
Yes. Shop Pay and Affirm offer 0–36% APR financing at checkout with options from 3 to 48 months — most homeowners qualify for $150–$250/mo payments on a full system. For installs we work with Wisetack home-services financing (no impact to credit to check rates). Apply at checkout and a decision takes under a minute.
Do you handle the install permit?
Permits are handled by your local installer when required (most Florida and Minnesota jurisdictions require an HVAC permit for furnace, AC, or heat pump install). Permit fees are part of the install quote, not included in the equipment price. If your city does not require a permit, we skip it.
Can I install this myself?
We do not recommend DIY install on this system — it requires brazing, refrigerant charging, gas line connection (for furnaces), and electrical work that a licensed HVAC tech should handle. DIY install will likely void the manufacturer warranty. We pair every purchase with a licensed installer in your area.
