Pre-Insulated Copper Refrigerant Line Set
About this product
The line set is what physically connects your outdoor AC condenser to the indoor air handler or evaporator coil. No line set, no cold air — this is required for every split-system install.
What it does
A line set is two copper refrigerant lines (a suction line and a liquid line) pre-insulated and coiled for install. Our line sets use tear-resistant white UV-stable insulation, flared ends, and are made to ACR (Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) spec.
Why you'll want it
- Required for every split-system install — pre-charged equipment only contains enough refrigerant for short-run factory lengths
- Pre-insulated so refrigerant stays at temperature between units (uninsulated copper = lost efficiency)
- Tear-resistant white insulation holds up in attics, exterior walls, and crawl spaces
- Flared fittings match industry-standard AC connection ports
Installation
Run the line set between the outdoor condenser location and indoor air handler. Install techs typically use 25 ft for close-coupled installs (condenser within 10 ft of the air handler), 50 ft for typical residential runs, and longer for homes with far outdoor placements. After connecting, the system must be vacuum-purged and refrigerant-charged by a licensed HVAC technician.
What's in the box
- Pre-insulated copper line set (liquid + suction lines)
- Factory-flared connection ends
- UV-stable white insulation rated for outdoor exposure
Common questions
It's determined by your system's tonnage. For most 2-3 ton systems, use 3/8" × 3/4". For 3.5-5 ton systems, use 3/8" × 7/8". Our product options are labeled by tonnage.
Measure the straight-line distance between your outdoor condenser and indoor air handler, then add 15-20% for bends and slack. Common choices are 25 ft (close installs) and 50 ft (typical homes).
The physical run can be DIY, but charging the system with refrigerant requires EPA 608 certification. We recommend a licensed installer for the full job.

What customers are saying
Saved $2,400 vs local contractor
Got quoted $9,200 from a local HVAC contractor for a furnace replacement. Found Furnace Direct and got the exact same Goodman unit for under $5k delivered. My installer couldn't believe the price and installed it in one day. Runs perfectly.
Fast shipping, exactly as described
Ordered on a Tuesday, pallet arrived Friday. Unit was packed well, no damage, all factory sealed. Andrew answered my sizing question over the phone and got me the right model. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.
Installer said same one he'd buy at supply house
My HVAC guy said he pays basically the same price at his wholesale supply house. The markup contractors add is insane. Furnace Direct cut the middleman out entirely. Will recommend to everyone I know.
Heating my 2,200 sq ft home perfectly
Installed my 96% AFUE furnace a couple months ago. Heats my 2,200 sq ft home perfectly, and my gas bill dropped noticeably compared to the old unit. Great product, great price, great experience from start to finish.
Saved enough to pay for the install
Math was simple: 3 contractor quotes all over $8k. Furnace Direct plus local installer was under $5,500 total. Saved enough to basically pay for the install myself. Quality is identical to what contractors charge a fortune for.
No-pressure, honest pricing
Called a few HVAC companies first — every single one wanted to schedule an "in-home consultation" before giving me a price. Furnace Direct just showed me the price. Bought online, shipped next day, done. This is how it should work.
