Surrounded by tomato fields and citrus groves, Immokalee holds roughly 26,400 residents in interior Collier County, about 30 miles from Naples. Its housing differs sharply from the coast: only 43% of dwellings stand alone on a lot, 21% are manufactured, and 11% are in larger apartment buildings. Half the housing stock predates 1993.
Cooler nights inland
Electricity warms 89% of households. Without the Gulf moderating temperatures, Immokalee's winter lows can dip noticeably below Naples', and resistance strips draw heavily when they do. A heat pump delivers that warmth for much less electricity, then reverses to cool all summer.
Manufactured homes need the right rating
Roughly one residence in five falls in that category. Equipment for them carries a separate certification, so verify it on the spec sheet. Underfloor duct leaks are common and worth fixing at the same visit.
Owners of several properties
Anyone replacing equipment across multiple houses or apartments can standardize on one model and one filter size. That simplifies stocking parts and makes every service visit look the same.
Keep a little backup
On the rare frosty morning a heat pump's output drops. Most installers leave a small bank of electric strips in the indoor cabinet as auxiliary heat; ask how many kilowatts they recommend for your square footage rather than reusing whatever the old system had.
Who sells the equipment
Immokalee buyers deal with Cooling Direct (FL #CAC1820468), the Southwest Florida side of Furnace Direct, a DBA of Hamlin Mechanical LLC. Heat pumps and indoor units are priced straight from the factory channel; Naples-based coordinators set the installation date.
Before you sign
Get the equipment's AHRI certificate number and confirm that the installer, not you, applies for the permit. Winter is the easiest season to book. Write down your home type and the age of the current system, then Call for Pricing: (239) 946-6132.
